Bison's got spanked.

Tonight I was witness to one of the greatest spankings in Strathcona County. Ardrossan Bisons 0, Bev Facey Falcons - >30 (I don't remember the exact score). I will give the Bisons credit - they played awesome. They were just shut down at every attempt. They played the best I have seen all season. They are a tier 4 school, playing mostly rookies - and they just couldn't match up with Facey's tier 1 school of all graduating players. Kudos to the Bisons. They should really feel proud of themselves for tonight's attempt.

On a side note. The prune/apple juice was a "massive blowout hit" for Paige's digestive system. I have NEVER seen such a mess in my life. Let's just say that I had to throw away a diaper shirt and sleeper instead of attempting to clean them - and the bath tub was my best friend for removing poop from all over little girl body. Yummy...

Here is my angel shouting with relief "Ahhh...."

Does anyone else watch Amazing Race? I recorded it last night. It was a two hour premier, and we wern't ready to watch TV when it started at 8pm. We went to the Marble Slab Creamery last night, Darren was a marble slab "virgin"! I picked Apples and Spice ice cream, with caramel sauce and Skor bits added. Darren got Cheesecake ice cream with cookie dough and cherries. Yum yum, I think I've gotten him addicted...

Back to Amazing Race - I love it! I watched it today. My favorite family is the one with the little girl and boy. I hope they win. Someone said they don't leave north America??!! I hope that is not true....

Nothing grand on the schedule today - we have already walked for a hour outside. I will make supper and then we'll just chill tonight me thinks. I have one fussy baby to contend with today. You're lucky there is no audio here, then you could hear her yelling at me from her Bunper Jumper now.

You're The Devil in Disguise, OH Yes You Are!

Well wouldn't you know it! After the day I've had, my last blog doesn't show up!

It was in fact my second attempt at writing a blog - and it was extra long. I was making up at not writing yesterday. I wrote about how my devilishly gorgeous daughter hit the escape key, and lost the first one. She was a tyrant this afternoon. She cried solid for two hours! It wasn't even the cute cry. It was the full, "I'm going to let ALL the neighbors hear" cry. I even had to put her down and leave her for 10 minutes because I was sure I would kill her. (No, I'm not a perfect mother...LOL) She then had a poopie. And was happy as can be - just in time for Darren to get home as get to see how perfectly behaved she was. She made me look like an idiot. I fed her a bottle of Prune/Apple juice last night. Poor thing, has such sore tummy from hard poopies. I'm hoping it gets better soon.

This blog better not get lost in blog heaven too...

I Ate Salmon for Dinner...

Salmon, couldn't think of anything else to write! I never got the chance to finish my rantings from last night, and I just don't feel like it now! It's Sunday night - and I'll be heading to bed soon. We are babysitting my brother and sister in law's dog while they are in Cuba (late honeymoon) and she is keeping us pretty busy. For some reason the dumb blogger won't let me add a photo..I'll try tomorrow. TTFN - Ta Ta For Now!

What...last post Thursday??!!! I actually have gone a day without posting?? Have I been asleep at the wheel?? Sleep - What's that?? Ha...Ha...Ha (Evil laugh). Okay, I feel the need to explain my whereabouts:

Friday - Busy day scrapbooking! Jennifer came over and we scrapbooked until about 3pm, when Darren got home from work. Then we went to watch the Bison's play football to get spanked...(in the non-sexual kind of spanking, in the "loose big" kind of spanking). That night after we came home, I put Paige on the floor for some tummy time...and she rolled over!!! Oh my gosh I screamed. She had only been able to roll back to tummy up until this point. Never tummy to back... I ACTUALLY had the camera on her taking shots - I was capturing pictures of her naked on her tummy!

Before--------------------->

<-------During

After------------->

Sorry this blog is so long...

Perhaps I shall retire, and continue my rantings tomorrow. After some well deserved sleep. My little angel is growing so fast!

Cheers!

A Decade!

Today, September 22/ 2005, marks the end of a decade of Darren and I being together. Can you belive it? Yes, our first date was September 22, 1995. 10 years of bliss...Baaahhh Haaaa Haaaa Haaaa - Yeah right! If you know the Darren that I do - it's been all but blissfull!!! I could sum up our years as being the perfect combination of comedy, enjoyment, romace, trust, frindship, togetherness, learning, disagreeing, and most of all affection. Yes, he holds my hand in public, still holds the door open for me when we go in to a building...and occasionally I might get flowers. He may not be perfect, but neither am I ... and we are a perfect match for each other.

Life Lesson # 734

Do not...I repeat...DO NOT eat an entire wheel of Brie cheese for lunch some day. UNLESS you WANT to pay homage to the porcelain gods the remainder of the day!!!

Hump Day Again

Seams like it was just Wednesday yesterday...

Today I think I will stay home and clean up. My house just gets to look like a tornado ripped through. How does that happen? I might just have an easy stay home day. Watch some premiers tonight. Anyone going to watch the Martha Stewart Apprentice? I have a real problem...all shows I want to watch are on at the same time!! America's Next Top Model, So You Think You Can Dance and Martha Stewart!!!! What am I going to do??? Record one on VCR, and watch an other. That still leaves one out. I'll just have to channel switch!! LOL

Blasted Smallville

Last night around 10:30pm I wasn't ready to hit the sack, so Darren and I put in an episode of Smallville Season 4. It ended on a rather intruiging cliffhanger....so I had to watch the next episode, then the next episode. I watched that box set until 2am! Of course Paige had to wake up at 4am. I was like a zombie trying to care for her. I actually woke up Darren and asked him to go change her bum and bring her to me in bed. I just let her sleep with us the rest of the night. My little angel decided that 7am was a good time to wake up this morning. So here I sit, holding her in one arm, typing with one hand. I am soooooo going for a walk today to the mall to get a Caramel Macchiato Coffee from Starbucks. I will definetly nap today with Paige!!!

P.S. I have a crush on Tom Welling..

Monday Again.

Weeks are just flying by. Today I am meeting Erin to go shopping and visit. It's been a while since I've had a good visit with her, so it will be really nice to catch up. I need to shop for a 2006 Calendar...the kind that is small, but has lots of room to write. I want one exactly like my 2005 one. I hope I can find one.

We need to get passport photos taken this week, for our trip to Vegas/Mexico in November...

Ohhhhh and we picked all the colors, coutertops, flooring and interior decorating stuff for our new house. It is awaiting approval from the county...then they start to dig!! I can't wait.

I feel like I smoked 10 packes of cigarettes!!

Last night was the Bison's fundraiser at Pots and Pan's Lounge...here in Fort Saskatchewan they still allow smoking in bars....so needless to say...stinky!!! Auntie F. babysat Paige for us, so we could have a great time. (Thank You Auntie!) Paige gave her a rough time at bedtime...Maybe it's a phase she's going through??? We don't know, but she maybe is teething. Here's hoping she grows out of it VERY fast.

Tonight is supper at my mom's place. We have been spoiled today - French Toast and Sausages at Auntie's and then dinner tonight at Nanny's. I am so lucky to have food in my belly, and nice warm place to call home, and I am surrounded by those I love. Who could ask for more.

Let's Get It Started....

In Heeeeerrre. Sorry, can't stop singing Black Eyed Peas. I love their new CD. My favorite song is "Don't Lie"...(yes I know the title is off of the Elephunk CD, Not Monkey Business).

So today is Saturday, and Darren is at work again...that poor guy hasn't had a day off work since September 4th! Paige and I miss him because he can't spend much time with us - in between football, work and bowling, that leaves for very little family time...that always happens this season.

Tonight is Dallas and Darren time....we are leaving Paige with a sitter and going out!! Nothing too exciting though, it's the Bison's Pub night at a lounge in Fort. Saskatchewan...woooo hoooo!!LOL At least it's a night out. There is going to be a silent auction - you know me and shopping! Can't forget my cheque book. Maybe I'll make Darren buy me something nice, since he has been working so hard. Show me the money!!

Friday, September 16, 2005

Look out South Edmonton Common....

....Here we come! Yupee, I am going to IKEA today to help my sister in law get some wall decorations for her home. There's nothing I like better than shopping, and spending someone else's money! Ha Ha. Well, I'm sure to drop a few bucks myself. How can you go to IKEA and not buy anything??? I need more boxes for the "outgrown" baby clothes.

Oh yeah, the Bisons kicked butt again, in the rain :-(, the score was 35-14. Go Bisons Go!

Paige is still sleeping...better go shower so I can be presentable for the public!

Thursday, September 15, 2005

Today I am going to babysit my cute niece and nephew after they get out of school. If the weather agrees we are going to an other Bison's football game. I just don't want to get dumped on again! If it is raining, I am not sure we are going.

Not much else going on today...Survivor start tonight!!! Wooo Hooo I love it!!

Here's to Keltie....

***Your Birthdate: May 11***
Your birth on the 11th day of the month makes you something of a dreamer and an idealist. You work well with people because you know how to use persuasion rather than force. There is a strong spiritual side to your nature, and you may have intuitive qualities inherent in your make up, too.
You are very aware and sensitive, though often temperamental. Although you have a good mind and you are very analytical, you may not be comfortable in the business world. You are definitely creative and this influence tends to make you more of a dreamer than a doer.

Penis Pen Topper

Not only for the pens ladies, they also make a great teething aid!!!

Damn Good Beer, ah, I mean BOOK!

After my seriously crazy bout with the sillies last night, I decided to settle down and read some of my book - I couldn't stop!! It just kept getting better and better! Don't you hate that when your alarm clock says 3am and you want to just keep on reading???

(If anyone is interessted I am reading "Sweetness in The Belly" by Camilla Gibb. Here is the editorial review by Amazon.ca:

The protagonist of this meditative and elegantly written novel represents an unusual demographic. White, English, and orphaned at eight, Lilly grows up in Morocco as a Muslim, moves to Harar, Ethiopia, for five years and settles in London after political upheaval makes her vulnerable in Harar. A stranger everywhere, she has a knack for making homes and building communities anywhere: as a valued teacher of the Qur'an to Harari children, and as friend and nurse to Ethiopian exiles in London. "You put roots and they'll start growing," her bohemian parents told her to justify their nomadic ways. But grown-up Lilly actively seeks roots and relationships, agonizing over the uprootings that famine, corruption, and political instability made inevitable for Ethiopians in the 1970s and '80s. Her narrative shuttles between two cosmopolitan cities, two tumultuous decades, and two significant others. Aziz is an Ethiopian doctor she falls for in Harar but is wrenched away from literally (perhaps too literally) after giving him her virginity. Dr. Gupta is an Indian whose courtship of her in London is handicapped by the flame she still holds for Aziz. Not knowing if the latter is alive or dead, Lilly has remained suspended in a 17-year limbo between grief and desperate hope.
Sweetness in the Belly is obviously not your average doctor-and-nurse story. Indeed, Gibbs's aim is to portray a largely invisible society. Ethiopia, Lilly says, is just "a starving impoverished nation ... of famine and refugees" in the Western imagination. Steeped in research but wearing it lightly, the novel renders a culture and dozens of people convincingly (though the parallel story lines make keeping characters straight a challenge). Lilly, with her religious fervour, multiple languages, and basic decency, is a believable insider and appealing consciousness. The self-protective emotional coolness of her London self, however, casts a shadow over the Harar narrative, where a contrasting tone could have conveyed her youthful optimism and passion. One might also wish the political back-story of famine and Haile Selassie's fall were more integrated into the plot; Gibb seems as keen to protect characters as they are to protect each other, sacrificing opportunities for drama and suspense. But these are small flaws in a precise, textured, suitably bittersweet novel. --John C. Ball

Ack! The Silly Bug!!

Ever just feel totally giggly?? I am sitting at my computer feeling totally...whelmed. Ha Ha Ha!! I can't wipe this grin off my face. Nothing has made me silly in particular, just my friend's blogs have been entertaining! Darren is at work (10pm-10am), and Paige is sleeping. I can't call anyone at this "ungodly" hour... who is still awake??? If you are up now, instant message me...I am here...singing..."THUNDER....NA, NA, NA, NA, NA....THUNDER....NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, NA!!!" (Thanks Keltie...)

Kids these days!!

Yesterday as I was sitting on the cold bleachers at Ft. High, I realized that the more things change, the more things stay the same. There was this group of girls, dressed up with nice hair and tons of make-up. They arrived late to the football game. Surely they were there to catch the eye of some young, unsuspecting football player...then it began to rain. They got drenched! Goodbye nice hairdo, see-ya make-up. They then all looked a bit like drowned rats...bubbling still about going to "Timmy-Ho's" after the game to warm up. It dawned on me...how similar I was to that group of girls. I can remember not that long ago, I would spend hours contemplating on what I was going to wear, how I was going to do my hair, and if I should add mascara to my eyelashes to catch the attention of some Bison runningback, #22 to be exact.

I eventually went on a date with that football player, and we have been together for 10 years. Our first date was after the first season's game against. Ft. Sask in 1995. It's funny now, because my husband says that I wore too much makeup back then, but didn't even remember what I was wearing or how I styled my hair. And we never called Tim Horton's "Timmy Ho's" we called it "Tim's". Yes, things do change, but essentially they stay the same.

Lost Blog...Come back.

I wrote and long and insightful blog this morning - talking about humanity and suffering after Katrina. Then when trying to spellcheck I lost it all. I became so angry, that it took me all day until now to type a new blog.

I went to see "Red Eye" with Paige today, she slept most of the movie. She really likes movies. Tonight I have laundry to do...and watching Big Brother. That's all. Tomorrow are Paige's 4 month shots..looking forward to that - NOT!!!

Who wrote this stuff? A genious?

I get weekly emails from my favorite baby website. I usually chat on the message boards with fellow mothers, and get useful tips. The emails I get contain information on "my baby's" development for her age etc... Just thought I'd share today's blurb:

"Hello, Dallas! Your baby knows she's the star of the show, and like all great divas, she'll want your eyes on her at all times. She thrives on your attention. Don't be surprised if she deliberately tries to get it by dropping things, banging objects, or even crying out when you turn away. She's not acting up, just discovering the principles of cause and effect — when she calls, you jump!" www.babycenter.com

Did someone write that after spying in my window?

Movie Day!

Today is Stars and Strollers day...yupee a movie!! We are going to see The Constant Gardener. I love Stars and Strollers - they leave the lights on dimly, lower the volume slightly, and have tables set up for bum changing! It is a great way for moms to see movies, and not have to pay for a sitter!! We'll be going alone today, as Paige's playmate has to babysit an other kid...too bad :-(

Labour Day Game - Go Esks Go!

Did anyone else have their weekend spiced up from my party. I have to say mine has been pretty enjoyable to say the least! Okay - too much information for you? Ha Ha. Got to get a generous amount of sleep this morning, that goodness because I was up late last night. I am anticipating being up late tonight again.

I have to share a really funny story. On friday night we were at a Erin's place. Keltie tells a story about her man R. (can I use his name?) commenting on how he wished Keltie's purse was smaller - like Erin's. We all started laughing because erin has started carrying this massive purse around for the last month or so. Erin commented that it was so big it could be used to carry Paige! At that very moment we all went silent and then grinned...Erin said "I'll empty my purse!". I said, I'll get Paige naked...and Keltie went to find her camera phone. Her is my angel in Erin's purse:

Here she is after we decided to take advantage of her smiles and put a boa on her....

It was so fun. I am going to try and take some nice pictures of her this week with the digital camera.

Clever Title

Okay - I just can't keep up with my friends and their clever blog titles, so in absence of a great thought, I will just pretend I said something great!!

So it's poker instruction night for Dallas...I'm going to make a great winning on "beginner's luck". Don't believe me? Well, I have a brilliant plan. I have convinced Paige to be extra cute and divert their attention to her beautiful smile - whilst I steal all their money!!! Suckers.

Busy weekend ahead of us. Can't wait for the girly party tomorrow night. It should be pretty entertaining to say the least.

Happy 100th Alberta!

Yupee, Alberta's Birthday. Free events all around the city...might partake in some - that is if I get this house cleaned up. On second thought, I think I'll be home all day!

Look at what a beautiful sight I woke up to this morning.... Ha Ha! Baby Jail....

Fun Hand Smacking

Paige is sitting on my lap and thinks that this thing that her mommy likes to pound her fingers on is pretty fun. She keeps smacking her hands on the keyboard. Here she goes: gbvfbcxc6z5aw AND..she's done.

Yeah - her first blog!!!
