Pumpkin Carving

We had a nice day - met up with The H's for breakfast. It was nice to see them again. Seams like they are drifting away from us, like our currents are pulling in two separate directions.

Then did a bit of shopping, lunch at my moms...and then came home and carved pumpkins for tomorrow. I did the witch one, Darren did the castle one and my sister in law did the cool cat one:

I also finished Paige's Halloween costume...it's pretty funny. Stay tuned to see photos tomorrow!

Sorry to my fans!

Okay, I realize that I haven't blogged since Oct 27th...and I am three days behind. I know now how many people read this silly thing by the number of complaints I have been getting! LOL I have had a jam-packed past few days. So... I will briefly sum up the details.

Thursday - Picked up boxes from people off of Freecycle, then went to the Bison's playoff game at Coronation. The longest game in history I'm sure. Started at 7pm, ended at 10:15pm...that's with 12 minute quarters too!

Friday - Went to see a friend of the family's new baby girl...seams like so long ago that Paige was a "baby". Then we had the Eskimo game. Darren was too tired to go, so I went with Keltie, and left Paige home with Darren. It was SUCH A FUN GAME!!!

Saturday - Cleaned my house like a mad woman, went to the bottle depot, and grocery shopping all done by noon. Then had lots of gals over for a Partylite Candle Party. (Thanks to all those who came and also a double thanks to those who purchased, and a triple thanks to those who booked a party!)

So here it is....almost 3am. I was up with Paige and decided now was as good of time as any to make my posting. I am headed back to bed. I'll try and blog again tomorrow, well later today technically!!!

To My Mommy, From Paige:

Hi Mom, sorry that I have kept you up all week. I know you are tired and truth be known so am I, but I just felt I needed you. A lot is going on right now with me and I feel so much better when you pick me up, sing to me, rock me, and feed me. I know it doesnt seem like I could be hungry when I cry every 20 minutes and guess what....I'm not, but when you pull me close and try to feed me it feel so nice. I used to be with you all the time in your tummy and sometimes I feel cold and lonely and I just need to feel close to you again.

I am sorry that the book on helping me sleep didn't work but I dont feel ready yet, I promise when I am bigger I'll sleep better, maybe even through the night....then again I've heard about that whole potty thing and I bet that might keep me up too.You really are doing a great job mom. I love you.

Oh, and dont worry about your milk. It's great! I know at times I confuse you by not eating one day and then eating soooo much the next but its just my mood, sorry to confuse things. I'm sure you know how I feel though, some days I am more hungry than the next but it only takes a day and your milk becomes exactly what I need. Cool hey? I know sometimes I eat a lot, but I'm growing right now, I know the books don't say I should be having a growth spurt right now, but I am not like all other kids, I am special....isn't that what you always tell me?

So please, please, pretty please dont get too upset with me. everything is just so overwhelming at times and I need you. You know what??? I have ears, I just found them. I know its only 3am but I wanted to tell you, I am so excited. I know I only woke you up 45 minutes ago to tell you my legs hurt but I am a growing kid and I think just seeing you makes me feel better. You are so pretty mom especially at this hour!

I'll make you a deal...if you can be patient with me when I wake up at night ( it'll only last a year or so, and I hear in the big picture a year isn't really that long) and hold me, hug me and feed me my favorite yummy milk, then I'll stop complaining about that stupid mobile you make me stare at for hours at a time.

P.S. I am not the only one waking people up...you keep on waking me up to put on that annoying snow suit. No one asked me if I wanted to go out in that crazy weather.Your loving child, and again thanks for being so patient with me I love you sooo very much.

Thanks Laura for this one...:-)

Yesterday I did not end up going with Darren to bowling. My back was stiff from being cracked by the chiropractor, and Paige was sleeping peacefully when it was time to go. Paige slept from 5pm to 8pm last night for a nap - so that's is why she stayed awake until midnight.... We were up for feedings at 1am, 4am, and 7am. She has been awake ever since. I will definetly take a nap with her later this morning! She should be asleep by 9am - and so will I!

Today we have a Dr. appt. at 1:30. It's the 6 month well check. I am eager to find out how much Paige weighs, and how long she is. If she's more than 22 lbs or longer than 29 inches we have to move her up to a bigger carseat. I know she's not near 22 lbs, but I fear she's pretty close to the 29 inches.

I have to also start the big clean up of this house. I am having the candle party this weekend - and I don't want people to know how messy my house usually is. I like to pretend it's clean all the time - shhhhhh don't tell anyone!

Good Morning Vietnam!

I am going to have to stop writing my blogs first thing in the morning. I have noticed that all I have to say, or complain about is my lack of sleep. Yes, I don't get enough sleep. That is old news - so I need to get over it!

Teething - We keep thinking Paige is getting a tooth, she shows all the classic signs. She is drooling, cheeks are flush, she has to chew on absolutely EVERYTHING. But nothing is coming up. She has not been that great of a nurser lately. Bitting down alot when she's full. Let's just say as soon as she gets a tooth, and bites down once...breastfeeding is over! At least we have been feeding her solid through the daytime with her boobie food. She seams to really like eating, and fusses at me when I shovel the food too slow. Her favorites still are squash and Oat Cereal. I fed her some of the store bought "Vegetables with Spagetti and Beef" She was not crazy about that by itself, found it sour or something. She really liked it when I added some oat cereal to it.

I also have a canker sore on the inside of my bottom lip. I have never had one there before, and boy is it ever annoying. How long do these things last there? I will put salt on it after I actually go downstairs this morning. I've been told it hurts like h-e-double hockey sticks, but if it works, I'd be willing to give it a try.

Today I have a pretty busy day ahead of me. I am going for my Mom's Group at 12:30 at Millenium Place. I am really happy to have met these women. It's nice to have some companionship with other mommies. I have a chiropractor appt. at 2:15pm to get my back put together again. Darren will be taking me with him bowling tonight at 7pm. He has been bragging about Paige, and they all want to meet her.

Brunch Sunday

Today was a very nice day! We woke up, as usual, 3 times through the night. But it wasn't so bad because after Paige fell asleep last night, so did we. We were asleep by 9:30pm!. We went for brunch at Nanna's. What a feast! Darren made waffles...and all the food was amazing. I love to have breakfast foods. It was so delicious, and a nice change from the regular Sunday dinners.

We have one problem on our hands - Paige is starting to be a mommy's girl. When something happens that she doesn't like - she cries for her Mother. Whe she falls asleep, she likes her mother. I don't know how to break her of this habbit - or stop it before it becomes a real problem. It's hard for me to blame her - I spend 24 hrs a day with her, and really don't have time away from her that often. Especially with Darren coaching football - he is gone from 5am to 7pm. She is just used to me. And I KNOW her - know what she likes and doesn't like.

I forgot to mention earlier in the week that I went with my new friend Laura and her kids for lunch and then we took some fall pictures.

My Homey!!

Hit and Run!

Darren's football team had a game last night, and being that it was -3C at 9am, I got my mom to babysit Paige. We thought we go out for dinner after the game, and take advantage of our time alone. I got to the stadium, sat down, and 10 minutes later the Clarke Park Stadium staff are looking for the owner of a Gold Toyota....great what could have happened. WELL apparently there was this "incident" of road rage, this guy in a big white truck followed a red mini-van in to the parking lot to fight over where the mini-van dropped his kids off. White truck man felt that mini-van man shouldn't have stopped at the crosswalk to let his kids out...anyway...they argued...and people gathered...told white truck guy to leave....and he raced out of the parking lot, but in the process, turned a corner too sharply and ran the back end of his passenger side of his truck into the front of my parked car!! He didn't even notice he did it apparently, because he didn't stop! Well - that goodness for witnesses. They got his licence plate!! After the game, instead of having "alone" time for a romantic meal...we spent the evening filling out police reports at the downtown EPS station! Grrrr! Not much damage, but scraped paint and a loose bumper. Hopefully this jerk will pay for hit and run, and have to fix my car! Here is a photo of the damage: (ignore the dirty part...LOL)

Me Switcha Template

I felt it was time for a change, and I've seen too many other people using the same one, so I was not longer original. So on to todays news...

1. I am looking for volunteers to participate in a lottery ticket chain letter. It is really fun, and you will get 36 free tickets out of it. Please let me know. I need 6 people. It's easy and doesn't take much time at all.

2. Today Nanny gets to babysit Paige. Darren has a football game tonight and it is currently -3 C in Sherwood Park, so I am anticipating it being just as cold, or colder tonight....not fun for a baby.

When will Paige sleep all night? I am sure you are sick of me complaining about how tired I am, and how little Paige sleeps, so I am sorry. But this is my outlet, and I have the mike!!! We dont' have any plans today, so we are staying in our jammies, watching tv and cleaning up the house a little. Time to go take something out for dinner. It will be an early one tonight!

I need Coffee!

Did you happen to look at the time of this blog for this morning!??!! "Of course", I said to Paige, "I'd love to wake up now". "What's that? - Oh sure, I'd really like to play now - Tired? No not me honey. You only woke up at 11:30pm, and 3am. Why not get up now??? Mommy doesn't need sleep!!!"

Confessions of an overtired, underpaid employee. My boss never thanks me enough. She only smiles and coos at me - as if to say "You're doing a great job! Employee of the year!" This is truly the hardest job ever - with the least amount of recognition possible. No one notices...it's like you have your own little cubicle...in a huge office, where no one even pays attention to you. Hence the new internet addiction! Yuppee, other unappreciated employees out there! We can communicate in secret all day...and even congrigate. It's very "hush hush"- we're going to take over our bosses...they don't know it yet. So please, don't tell them. We'll wait for a moment they are at their weakest..Muuuuaaa aaahhhh haaaaaa haaaaaaa.

"Oh, what's that? Sure boss, I'd be happy to read you today's report." The news says - "Grumpy bottoms are about. Today is a good day to leave the office. Head to the nearest mass consumer location and partake in offerings of money for items. Entertainment is important. Catch a viewing of some unknown theatre flick...eat popcorn too."

As you can see, I can't disobey the head honcho - or she'll scream at me. It's not very professional, but it is quit effective on her part. I have to go get ready. Put on my business clothes and prepare for war today. Today's uniform consists of blue jeans and a t-shirt. The boss approves of them I'm sure, however she has been know to vomit on that particular combination of clothing. Perhaps she disapproves... I'm sure she'll bring it up at my 6 month evaluation at the end of this month.

Two Brooms (For Carrie)

Two brooms were hanging in the closet and after a while they got to know each other so well, they decided to get married. One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom broom. The bride broom looked very beautiful in her white dress. The groom broom was handsome and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding was lovely. After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the bride-broom leaned over and said to the groom-broom, "I think I am going to have a little whiskbroom!!!" "IMPOSSIBLE !!" said the groom broom..."WE HAVEN'T EVEN SWEPT TOGETHER!"

Small Things

Small things make me happy...

For example:

1. Discovering that digital photos are only $0.18 instead of $0.25 this week at Walmart for a sale!

2. Darren doing the dishes.

3. When a friend RSVPs for my Evite to the Partylite Candle Party.

4. A nap.

5. Yummy food.

6. Shopping.

Oh, so many things can make me happy.

Sleepy Me!

When will I sleep again? I got home from the Movie, after picking Paige up in Fort Saskatchewan, at about 11pm. Do you think she wanted to stay sleeping after I took her out of her nice warm carseat? No - she wanted to play! I fed her and she was up until 1am! She only slept until 4am...and was awake until after 5am. She has been awake now since 8am...so total cumulative sleep hours for Dallas is roughly 6....(2 X 3 Hrs) I feel so tired!!! Ahhh!!! Good thing I don't have to do much today.

Meeting at 1pm for Stars and Strollers today. Looking forward to seeing "Elizabethtown"....And I think I'll be napping too at some point today.

Last night's movie "North Country" was great! It was very dramatic, and at times disturbing. But I really liked it! Thanks Erin for treating me.

Busy Week

I have a busy week ahead of me! I probably won't post unless something exciting happens....

Today we have playgroup at 12:30, then off to Auntie F's for babysitting so Momma can make it to a movie. North Country - looking forward to seeing this one! I'll let you know how it is.

Weekend, Weekday, What's the difference?

Sorry to all you Monday to Friday folk...when you are home everyday, it just doesn't matter when it's the weekend. The only thing is your friends are around more! LOL

Today was the Eskimo game...it was great. And they won by one point. Ha Ha. Then good friend Keltie took us for for yummy Italien food. I got to try Gnocchi for the first time.

So here we are home...Darren's watching the Oilers play, I am on the internet...Miss P. is showing no signs of sleeping any time soon. I guess it will be an other long, sleepless night.

Undecided

I haven't really decided what I am going to do today yet! That's the beauty of being a stay at home mom - the only one person impacted by your decisions is a 5 month old!! I'd like to go shopping today...maybe head to WEM...we'll see. Paige is unsually shreiky, perhaps it's from not sleeping for than 3 consecutive hours. Remember that girl from the Care Bears cartoon? Shreiky? That is my daughter.

Partylite and Harold.

The Bison's got beat tonight by Sal - but it was a great game.

I got my Partylite Candles today - they smell so yummy!

Paige and I went to the library today and rented some books - turns out "Harold and the Purple Crayon" is a pretty good book, but so it "Fish Fish Fish".

Wednesday, October 12, 2005

Look Out Ebay!

I have absolutely nothing scheduled today! Which is very nice, because I am feeling soooo pooped out! I think I will keep my jammies on all day, and nap when ever Paige naps. So there you have it folks - the exciting day of a stay at home mom! I may put in a lot of TV and internet time today.

Aftermath

Why is it that I feel I've run a marathon? I am exhausted! My muscles hurt all over my body... I feel like I need a soak in a hot tub. Hummmm - today I am meeting to start a "New Mom's Group" in Sherwood Park. We are meeting at Millenium Place . Maybe I'll bring my suit for a soak in the hot tub.

Maybe I am just tired from eating so much the last couple of days...or maybe because my Sweet P. doesn't like to sleep more than 3 hours at a time. I am up with her for feedings every 3 hours, so I feel pretty pooped out.

Happy Gobble Gobble Day!

We ate a huge dinner at Darren' mothers last night - I am still full! It's going to be a light brunch for me...because we have to eat again at my mom's tonight!

Happy Birthday Janna!!!

I feel so tired - Paige has decided to stop sleeping all night now. So we are up feeding every 3 hours. That makes for a tired Momma! It would be better if I never got a taste of what sleeping all night felt like...LOL Oh well, That's life raising a baby! Here is a photo of my gorgeous family taken last night at dinner:

Damned Lost Blog.

I didn't have time to post Friday, but Saturday - it happened again (a lost blog!) I typed a long blog yesterday...and it didn't post when I saved it! Argh!! I was in Balzac (not Ball-Sac...) visiting my Aunt and Uncle. I had a long whirlwind tour starting Friday, and we got home at 1am today...

Friday drove to Balzac (near Calgary) and stayed the night with my Aunt and Uncle on their horse farm - it was beautiful! I loved seeing the stars so bright again - and the northern lights were amazing. Saturday we drove in to Calgary to watch the Bison's football team play at McMahon Stadium. They tied the Sexsmith Sabres 29 to 29. It was a great game. Then we ate a Peter's Drive In. (For those of you who haven't ever been, I truly recommend it once in your lifetime.) Then went back to the horse farm until 9:30pm when we went to the airport to pick up my brother and sister in law. We headed back home from Calgary. So that's the short version of why I have been so busy the last couple of days.

Today we are going to Darren's mom's for Turkey Dinner...Yummy. So I have to go and shower. Too-ta-looo kiddies!!! Gobble gobble!!!

Sleep Every Other Day!

Sleep, just wasn't happening in my home last night. I wonder if it is something I am eating. I am going to make a list of EVERYTHING I consumed yesterday, and see if the next bad night we have it has something to do with that. Maybe Paige is reacting to something I ate....or maybe she is just getting her teeth. I don't know. It really sucks that Darren is working so much this week, and with coaching football, his help with Paige is almost non-existant! I feel like a single parent. God help us make it through this football season.

Today is an other movie day....yupee!

Wednesday, October 05, 2005

Sleep Glorious Sleep!

Yupee! So I got to sleep last night from midnight to around 8am...with only a half dozen "soother plunks", and one nursing at 6:30am though the night. It's almost 9am and my little angel is still sleeping. Today I am meeting a new friend for lunch - yummy Vietnamese food!!

Nothing else new to report.........Maybe I'll come back tonight.

What's the return policy on the 2005 model???

Paige has decided to use all her energy crying at the top of her lungs - all night!!! There wasn't enough baby Tylenol in the house to knock her out, or enough Advil to rid me of my massive over-tired headache. I don't know what she was so pissed off at. She woke up screaming at 11:30pm (for the second time last night) and wouldn't be calmed. She cried so hard, so solid, that she gaged herself!!! I was almost at the point where I was going to take her to the emergency department. She settled for some unknown reason, but then she was happy. (Or maybe the Tylenol had kicked in...) She wanted to play! ARGGGGG I felt like trading her in for a new model....Does this thing come with a warranty? At least Will and Grace was on the tube to take my mind off things, I forgot how mad I was at her. Then she has the nerve to wake up this morning and smile at me. She giggled "I love you Momma" as if nothing had happened. Geez!

On a more positive note, today we are going to see the new Jennifer Lopez movie....

Monday, October 03, 2005

Monday, Monday...Isn't that a song too?

Well, today is an other lazy day...Darren has plans for himself all day and night. I have nothing. I thought about treating myself to some shopping, but I can't really afford it. I have almost done all our Christmas shopping - so I really have nothing to shop for! I will be taking Marley (my brother's dog) for a walk after this computer business is over, and Paige wakes up. I think I'll shower too - maybe rent myself a movie for tonight. OOHHH maybe I'll scrapbook....

Small things amuse small...Hey! (I'm insulting myself!!!)

Sunday, October 02, 2005

Lazy Sunday

Shopping, Photo developing, Sleeping, Eating. Well, there you have it. My day today. It has been nice. The only thing is, I don't think I'll let Paige go to sleep at 7pm anymore - she was awake at 5am! She was bright eyed and bushy tailed...definetly NOT what I wanted at 5am today.

Going to Mom's place for dinner - that is always nice. I love seeing family every Sunday night. It's a perfect way to end the week.
Like my new skill?

Rain Rain Go Away...Just Don't SNOW!!

This blechy weather has instantly created a "piano tied to my ass" syndrome today. I feel sooooo tired. My fellow housemates feel it too. "Sweet P." was asleep by 7pm, and "Big D." was asleep by 9pm...and here I am wondering if I should also hit the hay!

We went for lunch at Amigo's Cantina in Sherwood Park today for lunch. I loved the decor - felt very authentic, but he food was not that "wow", just "okay". Then we hit Costco for passport photos (finally). Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a 5 month old baby to look at the camera, without smiling, without opening her mouth??? Damn rules. She was so cute...the guy just couldn't get mad because she would bat her eyelashes at him and flirt... That's my daughter!
