Awww....Paige slept in until 9am today! It as fantastically glorious! We got up and went for breakfast at Alberts. Something I really miss doing . We used to go almost every weekend, but with my crazy work schedule I haven't been since November!

Okay, time for me to confess to you my friends something. I am obsessed with getting pregnant again. I think about it all the time...night and day. I am soo ready to have an other child. I knew from the moment I had Paige, that I wanted to get pregnant again. We were going to wait until Paige turned two before we started trying - but I can't wait! I have been counting down the months for over a year now. We are only a few months away from the "scheduled" time to start trying, and I can't wait! I want to get pregnant now! Darren wants to wait - how can we compromise?

I went in to work yesterday to cover for my co-worker who had an OB appt. She was taken off work for the rest of her pregnancy! She had crazy high blood pressure and was admitted to the hospital and placed on bedrest. So that means I have to take over her shifts until someone is hired and trained. I am exhausted. I just can't keep up with this working so much. I was really looking forward to some days off in the next couple of weeks, now that is barely happening. Argh. I just want to stay home with Paige every day. I love my job...but not everyday! I have today off after going almost 11 days straight...I just need more than one day off each week. I work a 12 hr shift tomorrow, then have Sunday off and then work 4 days....I was supposed to work next weekend after only Friday off, but I told my boss I couldn't do it.

Sorry for complaining to you. This blog is my only vent source. Darren has been working 2am-2pm all week, so he's not too sympathetic.

PLUS I feel a sinus infection coming on - probably because I am so tired and not getting enough down time. I will take it easy tonight. I am supposed to go out for a co-worker's 30th birthday party, maybe I should stay home. We'll see.

I have been one lean, mean, working machine! I got home late Sunday night, then did a 12 hr shift Monday. Tuesday I did an 8 hr shift then went to the Pediatric Asthma Journal Club for three hours! I also worked today....and I work tomorrow. I really am working my tushy off. (Well, not literally - but I wish!)

I got home from work today and I felt like doing something special with Paige. I have totally been neglecting her lately. I took her swimming, then let her play in the indoor play area. She was sooo happy. Then we ate grapes, and had some milk. I just got home and put her to bed - and she CRASHED and BURNED!

I drove down to Cow-town today, and got settled in my hotel room. I went for what was cheap (cause I have to pay for 4 days here). Say hello Super 8!! I am doing my asthma educator course, and it is going to be pretty intense. I had a massive binder to study ahead of time, as well as complete a series of packages and mail them in before this course.

I have to admit that being here in this hotel room is sooo quiet. I am at a loss for what to do. I have not been alone for a night, let alone 4 nights in a VERY long time!!!! I ordered chinese food for supper, and now I am sprawled across my king sized bed - playing on the net and watching TLC. We don't have cable at home, so this is a real treat. I think that during American Idol I will angle the tv and watch it from the tub. I will shave my legs, and I might wax my eye brows and upper lip too.

I am so very much enjoying this "me time" even though I have to work very hard while I am here.

I have nothing exciting to write about, so I have been not writing...make sense? Mostly my life lately has been consumed with working, and taking care of my family and friends. I know some people going through some pretty rough times, and I am trying to help them ease their pain a little.

On a side note, I have joined a gym and am making myself work out at least once a week. I am aiming for three, but once is my minimum. I am going to Spa Lady, and I love it. It is tough to get there, and their childcare hours are not that great, but I am commited to doing it.

Today I went for my third (and final) visit with the dentist to close up my tooth. I was frozen, and he did some work at removing some more infection, and then did my permanant filling. He told me that this tooth has been one of the most labour intensive root canals he's ever had to do. Not sure how I feel about that. I asked what I could do to prevent going through this EVER again...and he laughed, and said "Nothing".

I am going to continue relaxing here at home today, and recovering. Then it's work for the next two days.

I had a nice day scrapbooking, until my dentist called....then it went downhill. The dentist was worried about why I was on pain killers still...so they opened up my tooth. It was so badly infected that the tooth started to puss and bleed. They had to freeze me again (but it didn't work cause the inflammation and infection!!) and do a bunch of antiseptic stuff. It is horrible. Absolutely horrible. They are leaving my tooth "open" to drain, and infact he even considered making an opening in my gums for "drainage". I declined that offer! So I'll just stay on the pain killers and other meds until Tuesday when he can finish the root canal. ARghhh.

I am feeling quite a bit better today, but definetly not up to full swing of things. I am trying to wean myself off the pain meds, but I am having a hard time doing that. It is highly likely that I will have to stay on them until next Tuesday until the root canal is completed. I am still in a bit of pain, but nothing comparable to the New Years.

Today I am having Auntie H. over to scapbook all day. Paige has been up since 5am, so I have the kitchen cleaned and coffee hot. If you find yourself looking for something to do today, come on over!!!!

Last night Darren ended up taking me in to the doctor. The freezing wore off and I was in extreme pain. (Similar to childbirth!!!) The medication that the dentist game me was completely ineffective! So I got some Tylenol #3 and some super strong Advils. That did the trick. Made me so dozy that I could fall asleep and forget about the pain. The sucky thing is that is wore off in the middle of the night so I had to take some more meds and wait for them to kick in.

I called in sick for work today - Paige is staying home with me and we are just going to sit in front of the TV!

The second day of my new year....

I had a horrible night. I was in so much pain that I debated going to the ER! I didn't want to be a baby, so I just stayed home, and cried all night (and took as much pain medication that I could legally). I slept maybe 45 minutes total. It was terrible. Luckily I had the dentist first thing this morning.

I just got back from the dentist...and oh my! I am not in too much pain at the moment because my face is half frozen. It turns out I had a major infection in one of my teeth, and one of the roots in my tooth was dying. The dentist said that it was so bad and swollen that he'd have to immediately do a root canal! He said normally I'd have to book an other appointment, but he couldn't leave it! When he got started he found that my tooth had 4 nerves (usually there are only 3 in that particular tooth!) and that would explain my extreme pain. He could only do part of the proceduce as he had other patients waiting, and he got me over the "major" part of the procedure. I got a prescription for some antibiotics and some heavy duty pain killers. I go back next Tuesday to complete the procedure.

The remainder of my day will be spent right here on my couch...with my Asthma Education Course studying, playing on the internet, and watching TV.

I have no interest in eating, blech. I hope to also get in a nap before Darren and Paige get home.

Not a great start to the New Year....

I started getting a toothache Thursday night and had difficulty sleeping from the pain. I tried EVERYWHERE Friday to get in to see a dentist. Even the places that have "Walk-In" and "Emergency" dentistry refused to see me!!! The soonest I could get in will be Tuesday the 2nd. AHHH!!!

I had to work night shifts all weekend, and have barely slept due to the pain. I am dying now from the pain. I have maxed out on Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, and ASA with Caffeine! I am still in pain!

I only have about 8 more hours to last...then I see the dentist.

Darren's first few hours of 2007 were also spent at my work....in the hospital....as a patient! His eye got all pink and swollen and his face started to swell up. He came to the hosp, and I got him rushed through. Turns out he has pink eye.

Paige has an OTHER cold!

I know...I have so much to be thankful for, I am just venting. But 2007 is not off to a good start!!!
