P.B.& J. (The Paige and Blake Journey)

Monday, April 28, 2008

Three years ago at this hour I was crippling over in pain, experiencing intense contractions, and trying to prepare myself mentally to become a mother. Tomorrow Paige turns three, and I'm sure you've heard it soo many times before - but where does the time go???

I am the proud mother of a curious, adventurous, sweet, pensive, creative, intelligent, beautiful three year old. I couldn't be more proud of the girl my first baby is turning in to.

I am getting too teary to keep on typing. I love you P.J.!!!

Dear Jenn,

Today you wrote your last exams. I just want to tell you how proud I am of you. I can't wait to hear how you did. I will give you some time tonight to eigther sleep...or go party with your classmates.

YEAH girly - YOU DID IT!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Blake continues to sleep quite well at night. He was down last night from about 8pm until 4:3oam. I am sooo excited. I really hope that it continues. Isn't that all the mother of a baby really wants???

Our weather is really something here. I can accept that it's snowed so much here at the end of April...but for goodness sakes people - SHOVEL YOUR WALKWAYS!!! I can't stand being pent up in the house, so we try to get out and get some fresh air. It's damn near impossible to push a stroller on our neighborhood because soo many people haven't shoveled...at all! I wish I was a bylaw officer and I coud write them all tickets. The rotten thing is that it's been like this all winter. Why can't people shovel?? It's not like they are senior citizens. The worst case is two doors down from us - she's an RCMP officer, you think she's comply with the bylaws!?!?? Seriously.

The news says by Sept we'll be having to dial 10 digits to make local calls. Better program my cell to just do it now. AND 587 will also be the new area code. Very interesting!

I had an amazing weekend away. I can't wait until the next one. A few bumps to get over, but all in all, it was a great time. I am so tired today, I need a nap already!

I can't believe my son is sleeping longer at night. He went down in his crib around 10:30pm, so I went to bed. He didn't wake up until 4:45am. It was awesome. I got 5 hours of straight sleep. I hope he continues to do this, that would make me one happy Momma!!!

The weather is rotten - Snowing madly, and there is snow everywhere. I think today we'll just keep our comfy clothes on and have a cuddle and TV day.

Stay warm indoors my friends!!!

A little over two hours until I leave on my scrapbooking retreat!!! YEAHHAHHAHHH!!!

ARGH @ Shoppers Drug Mart!! I went Tuesday night and ordered a ton a photos ($75 worth!) for the scrapbooking retreat. I waited 1.5 hrs for them to be printed (yes, more than an hour - but I DID have a lot!). I took my photos home and didn't think to check them....

...fast forward to last night at 1am. I am going over my photos to start sorting them - and the color is ALL OFF!!! Everything is purple and pink hued! AND there are yellow lines across ALL the photos. WTF was I going to do.?!?? The store was closed, I couldn't call them.

So, at 1am I went online to Costco's website and did a massive upload and ordered for next day service. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they get my order finished by 3pm when I leave to day.

I called Shoppers and all they would do is give me a 50% refund or reprint the photos. Well, I don't want them reprinted because I re-ordered them from somewhere else already...and 50%???? That's garbage. I am going in and DEMANDING 100% refund. It is NOT my problem that they printed them all funny. Sheesh!!!

Gymbucks are a scam! Orginally I set out to spend about $75 bucks at Gymboree...but bought an extra $25 worth to get $50 in Gymbucks. I returned today to use my Gymbucks, and picked up so many things thinking "I am getting $50 off, no worries". So I've spent over $200 in total this month at Gymboree!!!

I am a sucker, but my kids will be well dressed for a while.

I guess if I added up the original price tags, you probably see that I could have spent about $700.

I cut Blake's nails tonight and gashed his pinky fingertip - gawd, don't you HATE when that happens??? I feel like such a terrible mom.

Pulled in so many directions.

Have you ever felt like you were being pulled in 1000 directions, and couldn't figure out what/who needed you the most? I feel like I have so much on my mind, and just want to help everyone solve their problems, and also expend my energy on my family, household, and myself.

I just feel spent. I am really looking forward to having some "me time" - It's been too long. I need a recharging. Great timing for me to go away for 48 hrs to my scrapbooking retreat this weekend.

I had every intention of doing a daily recap of our trip, but got way too far behind. I'll just have to leave you wondering what happened for the remainder of our trip.

We have been incredibly busy here since we've been home. Today we went to the Trade Fair here in the park. I love to go every year. Then it was shopping for a jogging stroller. I never bought one...but Darren spend over $300 on a bat!!! Can you believe that!!! On the plus side, he said I could buy what ever stroller I wanted, so I am going to buy a Chariot or a Phil and Teds. I'll keep you posted on that one.
