Maternity Session

It has been over a week since I've posted last - but with good reason. It's been a week of hell! And I don't use that word lightly. My cat was very ill, and infact died during it's surgery for his bladder crystals. They revived him and he had to stay for 4 nights. He is home now and he is a handful to care for. He gets medications 4 times a day - three different kinds. He requires two types of food, one kind 4 times a day and one to be kept full for him to graze upon. When all is said and done we should be left with a healthy cat (requiring special food daily) and "only" a $1300 Vet bill.

Then I should mention that I have been sick myself. I am working on getting rid of my strep throat, but have now gotten a sinus infection/cold.

Paige has not been well either - today she barfed all over a table at Millenium Place.

My water cooler busted, and I awoke one morning to about 10 litres of water all over my kitchen floor.

And then there's this newborn attatched to my breasts!!

Still sick here. Blech. I just want to feel better!

My cat is sick too - he's meowing at me and doesn't want to leave my side. I've been watching him all night and have been on the phone with the Animal ER clinic. I will have to bring him in to our vets first thing in the morning.

I wish I could just swallow without it hurting so bad, the rest I could deal with.

OH>>>>on a plus note, I got my Maternity Photo Session photos back yesterday and also took Blake, Paige and Darren for a newborn shoot. I can't wait to see the photos (considering I felt like I had been hit by a train!)

I'll post some photos later today - since I'm stuck indoors having to cancel yet another day out with friends!!! ARGH!!!

Sick

My mom left on Friday morning, she was such a good help to have around. I am really going to miss her. Since she left, I've been feeling crummy. My throat started to be sore Friday, and the headaches started that night. I have been taking drugs, but it's not helping. I don't know if it's the fact that I am sooo tired and sleep deprived, could be my body is very weak at the moment.

Last night it just got worse. I can barely speak, and my throat is all swollen - on the outside of my neck too! I have a horrible headache, and my body is achy and sore. All my joints are stiff, and I just wish I could stay in bed.

Unfortunetly I have an almost 3 yr old demanding my attention and a two week old permanantly attatched to my breasts.

I am ready for a vacation - no, I want my Mommy back.

New Name Required!

So dear readers of my blog - help me pick a new name! Dallas' Paige no longer "covers" my life anymore. What would be a good new name? I am taking suggestions. I have no ideas!!!

The Wet Spot

Before I had children "The Wet Spot" meant something all together different to me in bed. You all know what I am talking about - that spot you fight over who sleeps in it, the spot you have to cover with a towel after "love making". Well, I've said to much. In any case - you've all encoutered the dilema of a wet spot.

Last night I got a new version of "The Wet Spot". When you are the proud new owner of a newborn, you find multiple occasions where you are finding ways to avoid a wet spot at night. We received two vomit spots, and three pee spots. Where does one sleep on the sheets after that number of "Wet Spot" occurances???

You don't. You just get up and change the sheets at 3am. And pray that you don't get a new wet spot on your clean sheets before morning.

We got home from the hospital on Monday, and things have been going pretty good so far. Aside from some breastfeeding problems, and a major lack of sleep, I am SOOOOO loving having a newborn around the house again.

The smells, the sounds, the coos, and cuddles.....ahhhhh - true love!

Last night he didn't let me sleep until after 4am. I only slept 4am-5:30am, 7am-8:30am then 9am-10:30am. Paige is napping now, but Blake is awake!
