P.B.& J. (The Paige and Blake Journey)

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

I had a very busy day. I watched my friend's little man J.B. He's almost 1yr old. I've watched him before, and I can tell you that three kids under 3yrs old is NOT FUN. It's a great thing that Blake sleeps lots still because I might pull my hair out. I was changing diapers all morning. After playing with the kids on the floor, breastfeeding every couple of hours, doing 3 loads of laundry, making a tuna cassarole for lunch....I was exhausted by 11am!

This afternoon I did a major overhaul of my closet - and got all my clothes organized. Took some work to get my maternity clothes all put away, pulled out my summer clothes for Mexico, and put away my winter clothes that are still too tight.

I can't wait to get back in shape. I am more motivated than ever to make my outside match my inside.

Smiles!

I just wanted to share a milestone...Blake smiles now! He has been smiling on and off since February 1st, and at first we thougth it was gas - but we are certain now as he smiles in reaction to us smiling at him, or his sister being a goofball!
These photos were taken February 1st.

My Big Boy

Blake is growing up too fast! He still is a big eater, and is keeping me up every 2-3 hrs at night to feed. I had a shower at work on February 1st - he was 4 weeks old and his weight was 11lbs 3oz. I took him to his 6 week check up on Monday and he was right on 12 lbs!
I had a really rough day today. I broke down in tears and called Darren to come home as soon as possible. One thing was just adding on to the next, and I reached a breaking point. I know every mother has been there. Anyway, although I am still feeling sick, I am giving every last bit of energy that I have in to keeping my two beautiful children happy, healthy, well fed, clean clothed and truly loved. Here they are today.
I am sooo fortunate to have Darren in my life, and in my children's lives. He is so understanding, and really does care for me. It just is so clear to me. He got home today and I was tired, cranky, overwhelmed, emotional and completely bagged. He "took over" making supper and then decided to take Paige after supper to Millenium to give me the chance to have a nap. Blake by some stroke of luck slept for an other two hours so I ate my meal while it was hot (a rare occasion lately) and cought a one hour nap. Blake woke up at 8pm, and I fed him. Darren got home from MP (with a Second Cup treat for ME!), put PJ to bed and took Blake. I went for a LONG, HOT shower...and just took my time reviving myself.

I have been sick practically sincy my son was born. I understand that my immune system is low after having major abdominal surgery, and not getting very much sleep - however I am at the end of my rope with sickness.I got sick Jan 18th with a sore throat, achy body and fever and chills. I went to the Dr. on the 22nd and she did a swab - came back positive for Strep Throat. I did the 10 days of antibiotics, and finished that maybe 7 days ago. After I started to get well, my kids got sinus colds - and I had to deal with them getting better. By friday last week - Feb 8th, my throat started hurting again. Over the weekend I felt like I was getting worse again. Tired, achy, chills, sore throat, stuffed upper sinuses. I went to the Dr. today and she says my throat looks horrible. Thinks I have Strep again. She did an other swab. She says if it's positive again, my whole family will have to get tested to see if someone is re-infecting me, and they will do antibiotics too. Hubby has also had sore throat off and on, but not to the extent I have been.

We've all been sick in our house...for so long. It's really starting to wear on me. Blake got sick a few days ago - and last night was one of our worst.

He is cluster feeding, so eating every hour! I am soo exhausted. He actually slept 12:30am until 3am (lucky me!) THEN he was up fussing and eating until 5:30am - then slept until 7:30am. I got a cumulative total of 4.5 hrs of sleep. Blech. Guess who's 2yr old is getting a jammies and Dora DVD day??? It will be over before I know it, so in some weird twisted way - I am enjoying it.

Thank You Keltie for leaving your 7 Layer Mexicain Dip here - I am currently eating that for breakfast.
