March 17

AHHHH.....so relaxing! An other "do nothing" day. Paige played in her pool, she loves it! The only thing she freaks out over is bugs! She hates them. She always wants me to take them out of the water. Today is St. Patrick's day too, so I am wearing green of course.

We went for dinner at Tio Pablo's - for the St. Patrick's day special and were supposed to have corned beef and cabbage, but they ran out. :( I was soo dissapointed. So I settled on Santa Fe grilled chicken.

March 16

Today Paige wanted me to do her hair with the stuff that I use to do mine. It was adorable! I put my goop in and scrunched it and blowdried it. Then I used some hairspray. She loved it!! She was soo proud.

We decided to have a relaxing day - basically what we do a lot here. We just take our time waking up, eat breakfast. Hang out at my mom's place. Let PJ swim in her little pool, then eat lunch - then have naps. Then supper and our day is basically over. Can't tell you how fantastic it is to really do nothing all day.

Photo Upload Issues

Blogger does not seem to be letting me upload more than one photo per day, so I'll type my daily recaps, then add photos as I can.

March 15

Happy Birthday Pop-Pop!! (Brian - Blake's namesake, my children's only grandfather.)

Today we got to partake in an interessting adventure....Golf! I didn't get to play because I was watching our kids, but Mom, Brian, Aunt Janice and Darren got to play. The funny thing was is that is wasn't on a "real" golf course. It was in an arroyo. (A dry creek bed that temporarily fills with water after a heavy rain). Darren told "the boys" he went golfing. The holes are just old tires with flags. So they were really jealous over nothing really. LOL

After golfing we went to a dinner. It was a tradional Mexicain meal - YUMMY!! They roasted beef, pork and moose in a huge roaster. Darren was in love. He now claims that we'll be building one in our back yard - I don't think so hunny!

March 14

I got woken up with the most AMAZING news. My brother and his wife delivered their baby one month early this morning. Abigail Susan was born at 9:45am. She was only 5lbs 13 oz, and 19 3/4 inches. I will post a picture if I get permission from the new parents.

Then we set off to the town of El Triunfo to see one of the old temples of El Triunfo the old silver mines. It was very cool. I have tons of photgraphs. You'll have to ask to see my photos next time you see me, or better yet - my scrapbook. Can't wait to finish some pages.

Here is me breastfeeding Blake while being a tourist in the old temple of El Triunfo. I love my new gauze wrap! I've used it soooo often here.

March 13

Today Mom, Blake and I did the drive to San Jose Del Cabo. Paige stayed home with Daddy and Pop Pop. We stocked up on supplies, then we drove to the airport to pick up my Aunt Janice. That pretty much consumed our day as it's 1 1/2 hrs each way. At night I got to snuggle with my babies. I can't believe how fast Blake is growing up.

March 12

Got up today and went for some yummy breakfast at the Paradise Cafe. This cafe has been one of Darren and my favorites for breakfast and smoothies over the last few years. I have gotten used to eaten the "Green Sister's Omelette" . It has mushroom, zucchini, spinach and feta cheese. It comes with a side of hashbrowns, toast and fruit cup. I am sure going to miss this when I get home. We have eaten there about twice a week. Paige LOVES the smoothies. She always wants a flavour with strawberry. Today I "made" her drink a mango one, because that's MY favorite!!! She drank it anyways.

Then we went for a swim at Martin Verdugo's Trailer Park/Motel's pool. It is one of the nicest pools for kids because it has a generous 1/2 foot depth end. Paige got slathered in sunscreen and played. The weather was so nice, but the water was freezing!! No pools are heated here, but their waters are sooo chilly. It's refreshing to say the least.

All better

Well, it has been a long few days for me and my stomach ailments. I am feeling much better, and yesterday was my first day back on "whole foods".

We are really enjoying our time here, and I am sad that we are almost half done our trip. Alhough, I am really missing some people at home. It sickens me that I can't just pick up the phone and call some of you. I can't wait to get home and resume our chats. I can't wait to see how Erin's baby belly is growing, and I can't wait to meet James and Heather's baby (soon it will be born, within a month or so).

Paige gets Nanny to read to her often. It's sooooooooooo nice having her help with the kids. I have so many happy memories with my grandmother, and I am excited that my children will have the same opportunities with my mother. Grandparents are amazing. It's great that Paige is also sharing in our love of reading. It's hard to say no to her when she wants to be read do because it's such a wonderful imagination builder.

One Sick Momma

Thursday night I suffered horrible stomach cramping all night. It then was pursued by series of diarreah episodes. I spent the entire day in bed and just kept hydrated drinking water with a splash of cranberry juice. I tried some Pepto, and that helped the stomach cramping some. I am lucky my mom was here to help out with watching the kids. Darren just brought Blake to me for feedings when he needed to eat. I had to keep hydrated to keep up with breastfeeding for him.

After 24 hrs of not eating and my system flushing - this morning I felt much better. Still not up to 100% but I am feeling better. Today I ate some yogurt and almonds, and some chicken soup. That is all I am willing to try as I am still quite crampy and don't want to loose ground.

I have no idea what Darren did yesterday, and my sweet Paige spent the night at my mom's place. I am so lucky. I got up this morning and came over to my mom's place and Paige yelled "MOMMY!!! I'm sooo happy to see you, I've missed you." Right then and there my heart melted and I forgot all about how crummy I was feeling. Today she's wanted to spend as much time with me as possible. So I have been trying to make her feel special. Daddy blew up her pool today and she went for an icy swim too. I don't have pictures of the pool as I was feeding the little man and she wasn't in the icy water for too long. I imagine as the water warms she'll want to spend way more time in the pool.

Ocean Swim

The weather was beautiful this morning, so we decided to take our first swim in the ocean. By the time we got all dressed, and slathered with sunscreen, the wind had picked up considerably! It was blowing really hard so we were not able to swim after all. The best we could do was to walk in the waves close to shore. At least we got a little salt water on ourselves. We'll try again later. The rest of the day was filled with relaxing, napping and a little walk. It's amazing how the time can go by, and at the end of the day we've actually done nothing at all. I guess that is what vacations are for.

On a side note (stop reading if you don't want to read gross things.....) - my stomach has been uncomfortable for three days now. I have had some not so pleasant diarrhea spells daily. I am just chalking it up to new food environment. I have already tried cutting out dairy for 24 hrs and that didn't help. I might do a 24 hr liquid diet to flush my system. Hope that helps.

The Doctors Trip

Darren had to visit the doctor today. His left eye was bothing him a lot since the flight here, and he thought he has something in it. I have been rinsing it with my contact saline, but he has not felt much relief. We dicided it better get looked at because we wanted him to enjoy his trip, and we were also worried about permanant damage.

It turns out that he only had a blocked duct, and it got infected. He is on some medicated eye drops every two hours for a few days. His visit, and the medications cost a total of $55.00 USD. Pretty cheap! We were expecting it to cost a lot more. At least we have insurance to reclaim it when we get home.

Here is his fancy eye patch that scared Paige too much. He came out of the doctor's office and said "ARGGGHHH...look at my pirate patch!!" Paige ran to me and hid and said "I don't want that pirate here." She was soooo scared. Darren eventually took off the patch later today, and will only use it if it's windy.

My Mexicain Senorita

Here she is her first morning in Mexico. She put her hat and sunglasses on so she could go outside, except she still had her jammies on!!! This is in our home for the vacation, our trailer.

Paige is really enjoying herself here. She is totally loving the freedom and new experiences. She loves to dig in the sand, and transport buckets of sand from one side of Nanny's yard to the other side of the yard. She loves meeting new people, especially the kids here who don't speak english. She says "Hola, soy Paige" and they say their names and continue to speak Spanish at a very fast past, totally loosing us!! She's so social.

Because she plays so hard all day long, and we slather her in large amounts of sunscreen daily, she has to bathe everynight. Our trailer shower is small, but luckily there is a small "tub" in it. Paige loves having a bath everynight!!!

The Flights to Mexico

Darren and Blake did A LOT of sleeping, but I am not complaining. Like I said earlier, Blake was not fussy one bit. Can you believe that Blake was asleep in Darren's right arm??? His little nose and mouth were facing out just enough to get fresh air. Paige had just curled up under Darren's arm. Here is a "self-portrait". I hate that because I am the picture taker that I am rarely in photos. This is the only picture of me so far....LOL I am holding my sweet boy, and Daren is sitting across the isle. This was first thing in the morning, just before take off from Edmonton.

Hello from Mexico!

Saturday morning we got off to a rough start. Darren "inadvertantly" shut off the alarm when it went off at 3am - so we didn't get up when we were supposed to . I woke up at 3:40 am and yelled "SHITTTTT - WE HAVE TO LEAVE HERE IN 20 MINUTES!!!!" Darren jumped up and began running around like mad to get things ready. I jumped in the shower. I just couldn't bear the thought of travelling all day without showering first. I showered, then fed Blake. Then we got Paige up (I dressed her in her clean clothes the night before so we'd only have to put her in the car seat). And then off to the airport - but we had to go back for the forgotten stroller.

We made it to the airport only 30 minutes behind schedule, and it was just enough time to check in, go through customs, get to the gate, change diapers - one blowout ;-( , wash sleeper in the sink, then board the plane!!!

Our flights to Seattle and then to Cabo were flawless. Our kids were complete angels. Paige was a sweet charming girl who had to meet EVERYONE, and layer on the smooth adorable charm, and Blake just slept and ate. We were sooo thankful. You'd have never even known there were two kids in our rows.

We arrived to Cabo and loaded up the parents truck. We drove safely and discovered their house only just finished. They have moved in to their garage, so we can have the RV. What loving parents.

Today Mom is working on finishing the floors, so they can move in to the house in the next day or two after the sealant dries on the floors. Brian has gone windsurfing as the wind is very strong today. The kids are currently napping, and Darren is too. I am going to go for a siesta myself. Adios Amigos!
