So..Paige is at the dayhome, and I am trying to clean up our house (top to bottom). It's toooo hot. Sorry to complain again about the heat. I don't think I'll get too much done it's so freaking warm. I have to take the fan into what ever room I am cleaning and face it straight on me to get anything done!

What are you doing to stay cool, while still being productive? Any tips?

  • I am not being terribly productive in this heat. Actually, I spend one of the cooler nights doing a complete cleaning overhaul. While it is this hot, I just try and clean-up as I go. That said, I will be due for a vaccuum and floor-mopping pretty soon.

  • I'm at the "What were we thinking?" part of having a summer baby...

    This heat is BRUTAL!

    My favorite pastime right now is 'price shopping' and 'reading nutritional information' in the frozen food section at the SaveOn Foods on Baseline. Actually I'm just trying to stay cool. Do you think they'll ask me to leave the store if I take a nap on the frozen peas?

  • We have the swimming pool which helps - it's getting a lot of use atm to cool off....but I also love lying on my tummy in a cold bath ;) for some reason lying on my tummy cools me soooo much quicker than on my back!

    Luckily DH is off this week and has decided it's too hot for housework - and I'm not complaining ;) if anyone comes over they will just have to deal with it ;)

  • Because Mon and Tues are my days off I too had to suck it up and do some cleaning during this brutal, sucky, g*dd**n heat.

    1- put cold water in a spray bottle in the fridge.

    2- spritzed meself

    3- scrubbed the tub (insert other menial, energy-burning, temper-shortening task here)

    4- spritzed meself and took "5" laying on my hammock in front of the fan

    5- repeat steps 2-4 with plenty of step 4s. lol

  • Cool and productive are not words that are in my vocabulary right now. I was suppose to be off on Mat leave last Friday, but selfishly agreed to another week of blessed air conditioned work:)

  • Yes. I hired an awesome cleaning lady, went to a friend's air-conditioned house while the boys played in her pool, and came home to a sparkling clean house!
