Last Night in Mexico

Sorry I haven't had much of a chance to get on the net - as you can understand I am not wanting to "waste time" in the house! The weather has been gorgeous here. We have been to the beach a couple of times, and shopping around town. Yesterday, Darren and I walked all around Puerto Penasco to seek out new adventures. Turns out we walked the exact same way we did last year, and stopped in the exact same stores as we did last year. I guess our tastes haven't changed much. We did find a bakery, and bought some Mexicain tasties...yummy! Today we got up early and drove to Caborca, a very old town about 2 hrs away. We went to a leather factory, ate some lunch and then did some shopping (of course). We tried to visit an old Mision, but the old church was closed. It was so pretty. It was built back in 1700 or so. Maybe next time. We made it back in Puerto Penasco by 8pm. Darren and I then went for a nice dinner at Hacienda Las Fuendes (http://www.haciendalasfuentes.com/) We ate so much food, I still feel full.

Well, gotta go fans. We have to pack up all our stuff and head back to Phoenix tomorrow. Going to do some shopping and stay in a hotel. Then we fly home Thursday night. (Keltie - don't forget to pick us up!!)

Before I go, I wanted to share a photo with you. For all of you who love chocolate... This is Darren in the M & M store. Would you believe that there is a store with 4 floors of M & M products!! This was in Vegas. We saw a 3-D movie, and of course "sampled" the goods. The pillars behind Darren are all different colors and flavors of M & Ms. We were going to bring some back - but they didn't make it more than the walk back to the hotel room. Sorry.

Greeting from Mexico!

I don't have too long on the net right now - but just wanted to share that we arrived safely in Mexico!

Vegas was an absolute blast, but there is only a small percentage of trouble you can get into when you are with a 6 month old baby. I will post more of the details later this week.

Today I relaxed all morning - went for a massage courtesy of my Nanny. She surprised me with an early Christmas present. She took me out for lunch too. Then after that we came home, and I napped with my darling baby. I am having a great time. Tonight we are continuing the relaxation mode. Darren has to be in bed early as he is going fishing on the ocean early in the morning. I'll try and catch you up to speed with some of the details tomorrow.

My Throat Hurts!!!

So...I got invited late Thursday night to go to Gwen Stefani last night...and it was a great night!! It has been a long time since I've been out - so I indulged a "little". I am speaking like a carnie - I am not sure if it's all the yelling, or the Amaretto and Diet Cokes. I crawled in to bed by 1:30am, and my little girl thougth it great to wake up at 7am. I am happy she took her soother and went back to sleep until 8. I had sooooo much fun last night. (Thanks Girls! Especially Erin - you are so kind, I can't even tell you how much I appreciate all that you do for me. AND your new baby Ginger is the most ADORABLE puppy on the planet!!!)

Today the Bison's have their provincial semi-final game. I am guessing that by the time we have to be on our way to the airport (4am), for the plane to Vegas, I should have no voice left. Darren should be happy.

So - this will be my last blog in a while...I know my Grandma has the internet in Mexico, but I am not totally sure we will be able to use it. I shall try to blog as often as possible, and keep you, all my fans, up to speed on the daily adventures of the Will family as we conquer Vegas and Mexico.

3 more days until we leave for Vegas! Then go to Mexico! I am so excited to get away - and spend some time with Darren. With football, and his work, he barely has any time for his family.

Yesterday I did all the shopping for the trip. Bought lots of diapers, sunscreen and a few snacks for the plane. We just need to pack, and we're ready to go.

Today I am meeting my mom for lunch and then we are going to see the Sal Musical of "Chicago" It should be pretty fun.

Went to the rodeo last night with Jenn - It was soooo fun. (Thanks Erin :-) Just so you know, Grand Marnier is not that great mixed with orange juice....

Today we have nothing really planned. Darren will be home soon from his night shift, so we'll have to keep pretty quiet to let him sleep all day. Tonight I am going to a Creative Memories party with Heather. It will be cool to see her sister in law who is pregnant. I always LOVE talking pregnancy/baby talk!

It feels cold in our house today - I think I'm going to up the thermostat. Or put on some slippers and a sweater. I better up it, Paige's hands are ice cold!

Today I was busy all day...doing nothing! The telephone was off the hook, but I couldn't figure out why. That was the highlight of my day. Darren came home from work and took me out to Cosmos Taverna - Yummy Greek food for supper. We had a "2 for 1" from the SUTP. Can I just say - I love those little licorice candies. You know what I am talking about???

Then we went shopping to Canadian Tire. I was so excited to buy a door bell. Can you belive we've lived here 6 years with no door bell??? I put new batteries in it, installed it, and made sure it would work. I felt pretty proud of myself. Hey, it was pretty easy because it's wireless. So anyway - 15 minutes ago our doorbell is making this funny ring. I go to the door excited to meet my first "door bell" ringer and there was no one there! A couple of seconds later my neighbor comes out his door...and wonders why I am stading on my porch, no jacket, no shoes. He starts laughing, and asks me a "funny question" - "Has your doorbell been acting funny tonight?" I proudly tell him I just installed one around 6pm tonight. He laughed and told me he is happy to hear that because they thought their doorbell was possessed! They thought they had a ghost, they even changed the batteries in their doorbell. Apparently since around 6pm their doorbell has been chiming for no reason....they too have a wireless model!!

Tomorrow I will see if I can change the "code" inside to not make the neighbors bell ring...LOL, all our kids are sleeping now.

If she's teething...

... why don't the teeth come??? I am sick of this fussy business! Everyone thinks Paige is this little ball of sunshine. They should come over and hear her at night time. Here is what my little stinker is pulling tonight that almost warranted her first spanking:

She fell asleep while nursing at 8pm - she was out for the count, totally zonked. Great! I put her to bed and thanked the "sleep spirits". By 9pm I was having troubles staying awake, so off to bed I went. "How amazing!", I told myself to be in bed at 9:30pm......then....."Waaaaaaaaaaa" goes Paige at 9:45pm. I gently pull her out of her crib and she nurses from both sides, takes her soother and falls right back asleep. Awesome - 10pm, and I go to put her back in her crib. The second her feet hit the sheets - her eyes popped open! AND she SCREAMED!!! Full blown screaming cry for 15 minutes. Nothing I could do would calm her. I rocked, bounced, shushed, offered the boob, put on a fresh diaper, tried to distract....nothing worked. Out came the Tylenol - her cheeks were flush, and she was obviously in pain for some reason. So off to the computer I went to divert my attention off of the frustrations. So then she falls asleep in my arms at 10:20. Great, off to the crib we go....AGAIN....feet touch the bed...."Waaaaaaaa". I rapidly scooped her up and rocked her with the soother in her mouth...and she was wide awake. Back to the computer we came...and she finally fell asleep again. She is asleep in my arms as we speak. I will give her 10 minutes, then I am putting her in her crib.

Okay - 10:45pm...she's asleep in her crib. I am going back to bed myself. I first need to unwind. I am going to make myself a cup of tea. I feel so ANGRY at her. I know it's not fair of me to feel this way, but I am just so sick of not getting some good quality sleep. I KNOW she'll be up by 1am again...Argh....why don't the damned teeth just come!!!

Paige's First Snow!

It snowed last night, so this morning I bundled up Paige and took her outside to play in the snow. She cried as soon as I put on her snowsuit!! And I put some snow in her hand and she just looked at my like I was from an other planet! So needless to say, Paige is too young to care about playing in the snow yet. Off we went to Millenium Place for our playgroup...it was busy there! I guess when mothers can't ship their kids off to the outdoors....

Shopping at Walmart is how we finished our day.

I had better get to bed. I have an 8am car appointment for my fall check and oil change. (They had better not find anything wrong with the car this time. Last time I got a check I dropped waaaaayyy too much cash there!!!)

All Sports Weekend

Friday night we got home at 4am! Darren came in 4th at poker with the boys - and did not win any money. It was nice to visit with the girls all evening. Needless to say, I was super tired all day Saturday.

The Bisons played in the Miles Conference football game yesterday at 4pm, and they lost by ONE POINT!! Can you believe it! It was so sad to see them loose. They put in such a hard effort. I was so pround of the boys. Thankfully they still get to play in provincials next weekend against Sexsmith. Good thing they are a Tier 4 team - and have been playing against Tier 1 schools all season.

Today we woke up and went to watch Bradley play hockey in the Fort at the JRC. My old stomping grounds - where I caused the most trouble, and was a "low grade stalker" Ask Jenn if you'd like some more details :-) (Go Traders Go!)

Now we are here in the Fort at my sister in law's place - going to watch the Eskimo game on the 52 inch television.

Gee - has my weekend been all about sports??!!! I need some girly time. My niece says I can paint her nails, and she's offered to paint my toes and hand nails! Lucky me? Well, that's a matter of opinion...

Damn Concrete Shortage...

Well, the "hole" for our home was supposed to be excavated today, but that's not happening. Due to the concrete shortage, they are not digging until they can secure concrete!! The contractor meeting was great - he's a great guy. He told me he would be honest with me all the time - never making up timelines. He is very realistic. I like that.

Today I was going to visit a friend and her 1 yr. old twins, but they are all sick, so we won't be going there. I guess I'll just go to Walmart and order some photos. Maybe go to the library too. Maybe I'll just stay home in my jammies all day...I haven't decided yet. Until I do, I think I'll do some laundry. Wow, my life is exciting eh!!!

Thursday, November 03, 2005

My my, so this is what 6 hours of continuous sleep feels like...I almost forgot! Paige slept from 10pm-3am, then 3:30am-9am. I can't figure out her trends. I will take this one night and count my blessings. Lets just keep our fingers crossed for more like it.

Paige has already been bathed this morning, and I put clean sheets on her bed. I'm sure she doesn't get all excited like I do when you get into bed after having a shower, and putting clean sheets on your bed. I love the feeling. Nice clean sheets...so smooth and nice smelling.

Today is a nice day - meeting Sarah and Emilee for lunch. And then coming home to continue the working on the huge pile of laundry.

Sleepy Momma Chronicles...

Today I have a meeting with the contractor building our house. It will be nice to have a more clear outline and time frame for the building process.

I am taking my nephew Travis shopping for a skateboard after school today.

Oh, by the way, I fell asleep in the movie yesterday!

Sleep - come to me!!

I just wish Paige would all of a sudden sleep for 12 hours. That is my wish for Christmas. Someone suggested Gravol for babies....but my conscience just wont let me use it when it's not "needed". Last night Paige went to sleep at 10pm, but was up at 11pm, 12am, 2am, and 4am. Then was awake for good at 7am. I actually had to give her Tylenol at 2am because she was crying like she was is sooooo much pain. She wouldn't nurse, and her cheeks felt flush. I keep thinking she is teething but nothing comes through. Poor girl.

So today is Stars and Strollers movie day...looking forward to it. I love going to the movies! Then tonight the bisons have an other playoff game at 7:30pm. It should be cold again, so we'll be all bundled up for sure!!!
