Coffee is my new friend! I have gone 30 yrs without being a coffee drinker - well, I enjoyed the occasional latte or Caramel Latte from Second Cup or Starbucks.......BUT then this past Christmas, my sister-in-law introduced me to coffee and eggnog, and I have been drinking it ever since. Mid January my eggnog ran out, and I realized - I like coffee! I drink it occasionally, but it seams that more and more I am enjoying a cup. At least 4 times a week now. I can see me eventually progressing to being a daily drinker. I'll have to admit that my good friend L. game me some really yummy coffee that calls my name every couple of mornings. We have this OLD coffee pot that we bought (at a garage sale) when we got our first apartment in 1997 - we've also been using that same batch of coffee since then. I've promised to throw out that old coffee, but I haven't done it yet. My next step will be to get a fancy black and stainless steel coffee maker that I can program the night before! Maybe I'll ask for that for my birthday - the BIG 30 is coming up in a little over 2 months!

Things have been a litte hairy and hectic around this home. It seams that 2007 is the year of busynessness and never ending sicknessness!!! Paige is on her first ever antibiotics for a nasty ear infection and throat infection.
So this weekend was the Family Day weekend, we didn't do as much as a family as I would have liked because Darren decided to leave me to do all the housework, laundry and cleaning all alone, oh - and watch Paige. He and his buddy had fun and built a poker table. We are fortunate to be able to keep this poker table until the actual owners get a home to keep their table....Great, until the boys realized they CAN'T fit in down in our basement?!! So this monster gets to live in our garage. Yes, I realize I sound bitter, but it was not how I imagined I would spend two days this weekend. Maybe if Darren could have warned me? Maybe if he hadn't promised he's do so many things that he didn't end up doing. I'm fine, I'll get over it. In any case, Darren is very pleased, and he deserves that too doesn't he? Sorry, just venting a little. At least I got to visit with a very pregnant friend Saturday night, and our dear friends Sunday night. We had a great dinner and got to relax and have some much deserved fun.

So my week of terror is over, and I had today off. I went to get Paige a SIN card today....and forgot her birth certificate. Now I have to go back. Since I couldn't get her card, I decided to go shopping. My girl was such a great young lady! She walked all through IKEA - no complaints, no cart! I am so proud of her!
Then I went to Children's place...and got a LOT for $100! A new toque, mitts, 4 pairs of flannel jammies, 5 pairs of pants, 7 new tops, and a pair of slippers!!! I got some great deals!
For the next two weeks I work Tues, Wed, and Thurs! I am so excited for Friday!!!! My good friend L. and I rented a hotel room! Tee Hee Hee - we are going to scrapbook all night!
We always try and scrapbook during the day, but one, or both of our children interfers somehow and we don't get much done. So - we decided to rent a hotel room and just scrapbook and enjoy ourselves, without interruption!!!

Yesterday I left work at noon with the Pepto Bismol Aches...and continued to visit the porcelain gods all afternoon and night. Today I woke up feeling much better, but still somewhat ill. Good thing I could sleep all day in preparation for a night shift tonight. (Took PJ to the dayhome).
I am going to shower, and swig an other dose of Pepto...then head to work. Wish me luck!

Saturday we went to the waterpark, and Paige had an absolute blast! I took her on a waterslide that has two small loops. As soon as we go to the bottom she yelled "More Wee Mommy! Pease, More Wee??" Darren and I took turns watching Paige while the other went on the "big kid" slides. I had a great time - I felt just like a kid. My muscles were sure sore on Sunday morning!
This picture she is "dancing" in, so her hands are blurry! She loved it!

I haven't updated my blog in quite sometime, as you already know, I've been working a lot this last week.
Friday I had the day off, and I basically burned a tank of gas driving all around the city running errands then entire day.
Little T. had his surgery yesterday to remove his adenoids ( http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/health_problems/teeth/adenoids.html ) and tonsils. I went to visit them last night in the hospital....and I have to tell you about my amazing friend L. (T's mother). She is one of the most wonderful mothers I have seen. She shows such love, devotion, compassion, and comfort for her family! I was almost brought to tears watching her soothe her child in pain. She is just fabulous. So anyway...in the middle of my visit in the hospital - she just throws out this "Soooooo...I've been noticing you tired and working so much lately, so I wanted to do something nice for you. I got you this comfy blanket (and she pulls out this AMAZINGLY SOFT microfeece blanket), a Blockbuster gift card and a basket of treats with a travel mug from Second Cup" I WAS IN SHOCK!! Can you imagine??? Here she is with her sick child in the hospital - and she is worried about me?? What a kind heart. I wish my words could really express how wonderfully I think of her.
I left the hosptial around 1am, then went to pick up tipsy (read LOADED/SMASHED) Darren from his poker game...and OH MY! This poor boy REALLY overdid it. I got there and he wanted Denny's! So us sober wifes had to take ourt drunk men to Denny's at 2am. You could probably fill in the rest of the story from your past drinking eposodes.
We got to bed by 3:30am. THANK GOODNESS Paige decided to sleep until 9am today. I got up with her, and we make heart shaped pancakes. Our sitter from last night (my niece) AND Darren are STILL sleeping...so Paige and I are watching a Dora episode and chillin'
We are up for a wonderful day - I'll tell you all about it after it's happened!
