Merry Christmas from the Wills!

Hope you are having a wonderful day. Our day has been so filled with joy so far. Paige slept in until 9:15am! That in itself was the best present! We got up and she got to play with her Santa presents and stocking stuff.

We ate some eggs and toast then opened all the presents. Paige was so excited ripping open presents. Thank you to all of those who have sent presents for her. She was was completely spoiled and had a GREAT time!

We are going to eat some lunch, put PJ down for a nap - then it's off to Francine's place for a huge Christmas dinner with the huge family!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful and joyful day. Peace to you.

Phoenix Sky Harbour Airport

Our adventures today have so far included:

1 - running out of water in Mexico so we could not shower or wash before our travels
2 - driving 1.5hrs to the San Jose Del Cabo Airport and have to wake up a sleeping baby
3 - go through Mexico's "fine" security checkpoint
4 - sit on a runway for 1 hr
5 - entertain my grumpy girl for 2 hrs of flight on a plane to Phoenix
6 - find luggage
7 - re-check luggage
8 - go through America's "fine" security checkpoint
9 - travel through an enourmous airport to find the "A" terminal
10 - secure some greasy but expensive airport supper
11 - locate gate A6 and scam off the free WLAN
12 - wait to fly home

Can't wait for 12:07 to step back on Canadian soil, and approximately 1:07 to sleep in my own bed.

Well, I am soo full of sadness that today is our last full day here in Mexico. We fly out tomorrow.
We have been trying to soak up as much of the sun as humanly possible as we know it will soon be back to the snow!

This morning I went to my Salsa class, then PJ and I went to a nearby hotel to do some swimming. We are now lounging in the sun, and we'll go back to our trailer for some lunch very soon. Today is a day of "eat all the food in the fridge and cupboards". It's looking like left over coconut shrimp for me and perhaps some cheerios for Paige for lunch.

Adios!

Yupee the Internet is fixed!!!

We have been without internet for the last week!! I have been thinking everyday what I would type in my blog - then it would be down! FINALLY this morning I discovered the internet back up!!!

We are having a fantastic time, and also starting to feel sad that we have only three days left. Today Aunt Tamsin is coming on a Harley she's renting with her boyfriend Kevin. They are staying in Cabo San Lucas at the Rui Palace Resort (It's an all inclusive deal-e-o...I'll tell you more about my trip there later.)

I will post some more details later today.

Los Barriles, Mexico - Day 5, December 14th

It has been such a gorgeous day here today. The wind is blowins strong and there are many, many wind surfers on the ocean. Darren and I are sitting here on the terrace soaking up the sun while our little angel has her afternoon siesta.

This morning I got up and washed some laundry, then headed with my mom to a Salsa Dance class! It was SOOOOO fun - OMG! I can't wait for next Thursday to do it again!

I got home all sweaty and put on my swim suit and joined my princess and hubby in the ocean for a swim. Then we lounged in the sun while PJ played in the sand. We then got all showered up and ate some lunch.

I am having problems uploading photos...we'll have to do some later.

Tonight we are going to a big dinner and Henry and Menjia's house. They are the lovely couple who is letting us stay in their trailer now on the beach.

Los Barriles, Mexico - Day 4, December 13, 2006

We started off relaxing all morning yesterday in the sun. What a way to enjoy life! We then yesterday's trip to the spa was a bust (again) because Paige (and I) napped all through the afternoon. So attempt number two at swimming in the pool was a no go.

We had a wonderful walk through one of the big hotels next to my mom's place. It has a gorgeous pool. Paige wanted to swim, and of course us not being hotel guests, were not allowed. So we took off her shoes and let her walk and splash a little in the water.

Paige loves limes! It's so funny, when ever we are eating supper, if our drinks have a small lime on the edge she freaks out until she gets one! Here is a shot of her "finishing" my limeade! She LOVES it!!!

Today we are getting all showered up and driving to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo for some market shopping and also to the Costco!

Mexico - Day Three - December 12

Congratulations Julia! I just got word that she is expecting baby #2 in August 2007! I am thrilled! I am so happy for you darling!

So here is a shot of where I am currently sitting. I am lounging in the sun, and enjoying my wireless internet scamming. Paige is playing in the sand with Darren - her FAVORITE activity. She is really putting a lot of mileage on the sand toys. She is truely a beach bum. She LOVES swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand. Here is a shot I got of her before she headed down to the beach to play in the sand.

Paige quite likes it here! She rarely ever fusses. Maybe it's the combination of getting over her cold and sinus infection, not having to wear a toque and mitts, and getting spoiled rotten by Nanny and Pop-pop. I haven't seen her this happy is so long.

This morning we walked to the money exchange, and my mother asked if 10am was too early for ice cream. I was kinda "well...yah, but we're on vacation - so go for it!" She bought herself a chocolate ice cream cone, and "had" to share it with Paige. She was carrying PJ as we walked back from the store. Paige turned to look at me.....and this is what I saw:

This afternoon we were supposed to head to the day spa for some swimming, however Mr. Will is STILL having a siesta!!! Guess that is what vacations are for!

Sunday, December 10, 2006

Today we did a whole lot of nothing...which was FANTASTIC!!! We got up around 8am, and found some smoothies waiting at our door! They were made from banana and freshly squeezed orange juice. We ate some breakfast then headed over to my mother's trailer. We sat around in the sunshine, then left Paige with my mother so Darren and I could go walking. We discovered that no stores were open (due to it being Sunday AND only 10 am). We ate some lunch, then went to the beach for a little swim. It was overcast, so it wasn't too sunny. Paige went down for a nap, and I studied for my Asthma Educator's course, and Darren watched the first Karate Kid movie. I soon quit studying and joined Paige in dreamland. She actually slept for nearly three hours! It was heaven. We then went back to mom's trailer for some yummy spagetti supper and visiting all evening.

We decided to take Paige to the park around 7pm, and there we met the sweetest man named Carlos. He was at the park with his grandaughter Marbeth (4 years old). He spoke no english, and I very little spanish. Darren speaks NO spanish! Our kids played though, and it was such a sweet moment. After a while we had to get Paige back for clean up, then bed...and this man gave me his phone number for the kids to play again if we liked. He then asked Darren if he likes Tequila, Darren said no, then he asked if Darren drinks Bacardi, and Darren said yes. Then Carlos went to his car and gave Darren a bottle of RUM!!! It was funny, but very sweet at the same time.

Well, Darren is asleep in the hammock beside me, and Paige is in bed...I suppose I should get going. Have a great night friends!

We have arrived in Los Barriles!

Our early flight and day of travelling went without a problem yesterday. As you can see, Miss Paige was quite happy flying, and really enjoyed the 3D glasses the flight attendant gave her.

It was a long day, but we made it to Los Barrilles by 3pm. We settled in to our trailer (see Darren and Paige trying out the bed below).

We of course had to go to the beach and let Paige play with sand and the water. She loved it! She didn't want to leave! We will have to let her go back later. We then went for a yummy supper at Tio Pablos. We picked up some groceries for our little "Hacienda" and settled down to bed for the night. It was nice to get to bed early after such a busy day of travelling.

I've been super busy lately. I am sorry I have not been able to update my blog in a few days. We leave tomorrow for Mexico!!! I am going to attempt to do a daily blog, and report to you - my loyal fans.

Paige is in the tub now, getting squeaky clean. I am going to finish packing as soon as she is down asleep.

Stay tuned for photos and daily recaps!!!

Paige is still quite ill, but I think we are keeping it under control with meds. She "likes" taking them...so we'll see how long that lasts.

We have a busy weekend in store. Today we are finishing to make all our Christmas cards. I'd ideally like to have them all in the mail by next week. We also made this morning some decorative candles and coasters for Nanny and Pop-Pop in Mexico. Paige just loves doing crafts. Just like her momma!

Tonight we have our Christmas gathering with Jenn and Keltie (and our significant others and offspring). I am sooo looking forward to it. I can't wait to meet Jenn's beau! Hopefully Paige will be somewhat agreeable, and allow me to enjoy myself a tiny bit!

Tomorrow I work a 12 hr shift at the hospital, then we have our other friend's Christmas Potluck party to go to. Sunday I work an other 12 hr shift, then have a Partylite Candle party to go too!
